RAEX-Europe becomes a stakeholder endorser of the UN Principles for Responsible Banking
Rating-Agentur Expert RA GmbH endorses the UN Principles for Responsible Banking in commitment to sustainable banking
Rating-Agentur Expert RA GmbH (RAEX-Europe) becomes a stakeholder endorser of the United Nations Principles of Responsible Banking (the Principles), and the first credit rating agency to join the 180+ Signatories and 64 Stakeholder Endorsers in support of this effort. The Principles were developed and launched in September 2019 and facilitated by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI). The Principles are strategically aligned with the Paris Climate Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals and designed to provide a framework for a sustainable banking system.
Endorsing the Principles for Responsible Banking demonstrates commitment of RAEX-Europe to a more sustainable banking sector, and to maximizing the positive benefits of this to society-at-large.
RAEX-Europe already participated in a number important initiatives supporting responsible banking in the CIS region, among which:
- Second opinion provider for the first green bond in the sustainability sector of MOEX and first green bond of CIS bank – Center-invest bank
- First ESG rating of Russian Bank – Moscow Credit Bank
- International Forum Responsible investments in the CIS region (first forum took place in Frankfurt am Main on 17-18 December 2019 and second forum is planned for December 2020)
- Educational webinars RAEX Sustainability covering responsible banking topics for Russian speaking audience. On 5th of August 2020 RAEX-Europe is planning a webinar in Russian on guidance for banks how to become signatories of the UN Principles for Responsible Banking.
