2nd of December 2024
RAEX Rating Agency has supplemented the ESG ranking for 2023 with 20 companies assessed in November 2024. The total number of participants in the list reached 120 companies from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia.
Of the 20 new entrants to the ranking, Rosneft, Uralchem UCC, and QazaqGaz Oil Company hold the strongest positions.
Rosneft demonstrates the most developed practices in the social sphere, providing high-quality support to employees and stakeholders in the regions where it operates. The strengthening of Uralchem's position in the field of sustainable development is due to the increased focus on environmental risk management, namely effective implementation of the program to reduce energy consumption and a responsible approach to water management. QazaqGaz Oil Company is included in the RAEX ESG ranking for the first time, and the company has a high degree of ESG disclosure and publishes open data in the management sphere.
Among 120 companies of ESG ranking as of 2.12.2024 Rosneft, Uralchem UCC, and QazaqGaz Oil Company occupy, respectively, the 14th, 16th, and 30th positions. The first place in the list still belongs to PhosAgro, and the second to Norilsk Nickel.
The assessment was carried out according to the updated methodology published in the spring of 2024. To form the ranking, RAEX analysts studied only the public data of the companies, taking into account the specifics of their activities. Now, to be included in the list, companies need to disclose the required minimum of specific ESG-related data, rather than simply declaring their commitment to sustainable development principles.
The new version of the ESG ranking presents companies assessed as of November 30, 2024 according to the updated methodology. At the end of December, RAEX will publish the final ESG ranking of companies for the 2023 reporting period.
